Australia Day Shoot
Dressed as Wonder Woman and holding an Australian flag, Miranda Kerr is appearing on the front cover of Grazia magazine in a novel way of celebrating Australia Day.
Wonder Woman, which is really an America icon, has had the Australian treatment, with Miranda looking the part in Alex Perry designed attire.
Thelma McQuillan, Grazia's fashion director, said they are proud to be taking a risk.
"We're a fashion magazine -- and this is art."
"We're taking a risk -- because Wonder Woman is a globally recognised icon and not just anyone could pull it off. But Miranda is an Australian icon herself. She is our wonder woman. And she has the presence to pull this re-creation off," Thelma said.
Playing Wonder Woman was not all Miranda did. For a number of shots, she posed naked, wearing only a pair of thongs and wrapped in an Australian flag.
The model and mum also had a chat about Australia Day. She talked about how, when she was growing up, she used to play in the river near where she lived.
"When we celebrated Australia day, we would have these raft days. We'd build a raft and we'd all race the rafts down the river," Miranda said.
"You'd have all these little water bombs that you'd throw at your opponents."
David Hasselhoff, meanwhile, will not be spending his Australia Day on a river, preferring instead a day on the Sydney Harbour with his partner, Hayley Roberts.
Be careful, though. Haselhoff, usually an outgoing character, has asked for a few favours from fans.
"Be gentle with the Hoff. If you see me making out with my lady, don't interrupt me; if you see me having dinner, wait until I'm done."
"I will come over and I am approachable, just kinda let me get through intimate moments and dinner first."
Keep this in mind on Australia Day.
