Kath: “Do I Go Ritzy Or Tizzy?”

Kath and Kim will soon be appearing on the big screen in the movie adaptation of their hit TV show.

Magda Szubanski

It now has a new title, but its release has been confirmed for later this year.

Kath and Kimderella is the upcoming film by Jane Turner and Gina Riley (aka Kath and Kim), and is set for a national release on Sept. 6.

The movie, which was filmed in Italy and Melbourne, was previously called Kath And Kim The Filum. It will follow the suburbanite plight of Kath, Kim and others such as Sharon, who is played by Magda Szubanski (pictured).

Kath, (Gina Riley), recently expressed her concerns about the 2013 Oscars.

"I have been up to pussy's bow working out what to wear for the Oscars next year... Do I go ritzy or tizzy, indie... ?" she said in a press release.

"I was made for the wide screen and like Avatar I will be working blue."

This movie is one among several exciting Australian films to emerge this year.

Naomi Watts is currently in Australia filming The Grandmothers, a movie which follows two friends who fall for each others' sons. It's set for release in 2013

Meanwhile, Indian Evans and Brenton Thwaites will be marooned together on the upcoming TV movie, The Blue Lagoon.

There is also Bradley Cooper's new flick, Paradise Lost, which, though not technically Australia, will still be filmed on these shores.
