A Poorly Kept Secret
Ian Dickson (aka "Dicko") is fast becoming a reality TV stalwart. He was the tough-as-nails, unpitying judge on Australian Idol. He now can add to his cabinet the title of 2012 Celebrity Apprentice winner.
In spite of his tough image, Dicko spoke of the more sensitive side of his personality.
"It's a very different dynamic (being a contestant on a reality show)," he told AAP.
"You find a lot more vulnerabilities emerge at inopportune times... I ended up becoming a bit of a blubbering mess at times, but I am not too ashamed about that."
Ian beat Nathan Jolliffe in the final which involved producing a music video. He said he was very proud of Nathan, who had no musical background yet nearly pulled off a surprise win.
News of the win, however, was not all that surprising, nor was it really even news. The website of the station which airs the show, Channel Nine, had publically released footage of the final episode, including the announcement of the winner, many hours before the actual episode aired on TV on Wednesday night.
"This has since been removed. Ninemsn takes full responsibility for this error, we apologise to the viewers for spoiling tonight’s episode," ninemsn said in a statement.
"Let's just say Mr. Bouris will be firing someone at ninemsn," a Nine spokesperson told news.com.au.
Nathan is no stranger to leaked results. News of the 26-year-old’s victory in The Amazing Race was leaked ahead of airing by his friend, model Lara Bingle.
Earlier this year, The Herald Sun accidentally announced on its website The Gold Logie winner, Hamish Blake, a good hour before the ceremony did.
