Katy Perry's concert film, Katy Perry: Part of Me, is due out July 2, and we get a peek at what it's like to work closely with the pop star in a new behind-the-scenes clip.

Katy's personal makeup artist, Todd Delano, says the singer personally picked him out to work with her early in her career.

"I was hired to do her makeup for an event she was performing at," Delano said. "She took the chance on me, and just like plucked me out of obscurity from a makeup counter."

It was like an "amazing dream" for Todd who doesn't seem to regret his decision to work for Katy, even after all these years.

"I put my two-weeks' notice in very quickly," he said. "And I'm still working with her."

For Katy, having friends like Todd to work with every day makes her job much more enjoyable.

"I'm in the middle of the biggest success of my life and to be able to share these experiences with so many people -- my family, my friends... That's what makes me really happy," Perry said.
