After everything that has been going on with Lindsay Lohan in the last couple of years/forever, the last thing the girl needs is a hit and run story to come out.

We're not sure if this is just another case of Lindsay getting into trouble with the law or if something more sinister is going on, but the actor was arrested early Wednesday morning after she allegedly hit a man with her Porsche.

The 26-year-old was parking the car down a crowded alley at around 1 a.m. outside the Dream Hotel in New York when she allegedly hit a man.

The man, who police say is in his 30s, complained of an injured knee and was taken to the Bellevue Hospital.

Lindsay says she didn’t realise what had happened and made her way into the club.

It wasn't until she came out of the Dream Hotel at 2.30 a.m. that she was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

Lindsay said it all sounds a bit fishy to her, and that she feels like she’s been set up.

A source from the Dream Hotel says a surveillance video shows exactly what happened and it appears that the accuser was exaggerating what actually happened.

We all know Lindsay is prone to a bit of trouble, especially after last year’s necklace theft for which she is now on informal probation.

During the 2011 court hearing the judge said that Lindsay was to obey the law or she could face a jail sentence of up to 245 days.

The accuser said Lindsay was "slurring her words" and "smelt like alcohol" but, lucky for Lindsay, police said there was no reason to believe alcohol was involved.
