There's no doubt this wintery weather makes things even worse, but when you've hit the snooze button five times, the kids are calling and you've got to get into the right headspace (and outfit) for a 9 a.m. work meeting, you need a serious energy fix, ASAP. Makeover your bedroom
If your morning fatigue comes down to a lack of sleep, it may be time to give your bedroom a sleep-friendly DIY makeover. Make sure your mattress and pillows are comfortable, the temperature is just right and you're not distracted by any bright lights or loud noises. It's also important to establish a soothing bedtime ritual to help ease your body into sleep. Tweak your routine with small changes like a steamy bath and sleep-inducing essential oils, a quiet read in bed or a cup of chamomile tea in the evening.
Print or write out your favourite affirmations and stick them on a wall near your bed or on your mirror. They'll be the first thing you look at when you wake up in the morning and will be sure to give you a boost!

Fuel up on a hearty breakfast to load your body with natural energy and put a spring in your step for the rest of the day. Try delicious combos like muesli with natural yoghurt and fresh berries, poached eggs and baby spinach on sourdough toast, or warm porridge topped with sliced banana and a drizzle of honey.
Take a walk
Take a brisk stroll around the block to release those feel-good endorphins. Fresh air and exercise can make you feel more alert and help you to concentrate better. If you don't have time to fit in exercise before you leave the house in the morning, try to get off your bus or train a few stops earlier and walk the rest of the way to work instead.
